Internationalisation for a Multipolar World

REGISTRATION GUIDE

FAUBAI – Brazilian Association for International Education – invites proposals for sessions, workshops, and presentations for its 2026 Annual Conference, to be held in Florianópolis, from April 11 to April 15, 2026, under the theme: Internationalisation for a Multipolar World.

The world of higher education is undergoing a profound transformation. Geopolitical shifts, growing regional alliances, and the rise of new scientific and cultural centers have given shape to a truly multipolar global context. In this evolving landscape, Brazil and Latin America are called not only to participate but to lead, influence, and redefine the priorities and practices of internationalisation.

We welcome contributions that explore how higher education institutions can navigate and leverage this new multipolar world, developing internationalisation strategies that are rooted in local strengths and regional aspirations while contributing meaningfully to global dialogue and collaboration.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

    •    Reimagining internationalisation from a Global South perspective

    •    Brazil’s role in global knowledge flows and scientific diplomacy

    •    South-South and interregional cooperation in a multipolar era

    •    Innovation, technology, and sustainability in international academic collaboration

    •    Internationalisation and the BRICS, CELAC, and MERCOSUR agendas

    •    Autonomy, equity, and ethics in cross-border education

    •    Multipolarity and multilingualism in higher education

    •    Strategic approaches to mobility, curriculum, and research collaboration beyond traditional North-South paradigms

We invite professionals from Brazilian and international higher education institutions, government, international organisations, and the private sector to contribute to a rich and forward-looking program that reflects Brazil’s active role in shaping the future of international education.
